How Hush Machine handles your data: no account, no tracking and no analytics in the app. The website uses Google Analytics only if you accept.
Hush Machine is made by Kallos Labs. This policy covers the Hush Machine app for iPhone and this website, hushmachine.com.
The short version
The Hush Machine app does not collect your data. There is no account, no tracking, no ads and no analytics. Your mixes and recordings stay on your iPhone. This website uses Google Analytics only if you accept cookies.
No account
You don’t sign up or sign in. We don’t know who you are.
No tracking, no analytics, no ads
The app has no analytics or advertising code and does not track you across apps or websites. We don’t sell or share data, because we don’t have any. On the App Store, Hush Machine’s privacy label is “Data Not Collected”.
Microphone: Room match, Sound match and Record your own
Hush Machine asks to use the microphone only when you use one of these features:
- Room match and Sound match listen for 10 seconds and measure the sound on your iPhone to set the noise. Nothing is recorded or kept, only measured.
- Record your own records 30 seconds of a sound you choose, such as your fan, and saves it on your iPhone as a layer. Recordings stay on your iPhone and are never sent to us.
You can turn microphone access off at any time in Settings > Privacy & Security > Microphone; everything else in the app keeps working.
Your mixes and recordings stay on your iPhone
Mixes, settings and recordings are stored in the app on your iPhone (and shared with its widgets and Apple Watch app on your own devices). They are never uploaded to us. “Delete all data” in the app’s settings removes them.
Purchases go through Apple
Hush Machine Plus, sound packs and Lifetime are one-time purchases made through the App Store. Apple handles the payment. We never see your name, Apple Account or payment details; the app only receives a receipt from Apple that says what is unlocked.
Sharing a mix
If you share a mix, the link holds only the mix’s settings (colour, layers, levels), not audio, and goes only to the people you send it to, through the app you choose.
This website
hushmachine.com uses Google Analytics 4 to see which pages people read, only if you accept cookies in the banner. Until you do, nothing from Google loads and no cookie is set. If you accept, Google Analytics sets cookies (_ga and _ga_*) and Google receives the pages you visit, how you reached them, your browser and device type, and an approximate location derived from your IP address. Google Analytics 4 does not log or store IP addresses. Advertising features are off. Your choice is kept in your browser; change it any time with Cookie settings at the bottom of every page, which also removes the cookies if you decline. How Google uses this data: policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites.
Our host keeps standard server logs (such as IP address and pages requested) for a short time to run and protect the service.
Children
Hush Machine collects no personal data from anyone, including children.
